As the name implies, the surface is not magnet-friendly i.e. it cannot be used for applying magnets or magnet-impregnated objects (such as magnetic buttons) for holding accessories like dusters, markers, notes, charts etc. The writing surface is carefully engineered to give it extreme surface adhesion, flatness, erasability and readability, and does not warp easily due to changes in environmental conditions (temperature and humidity). Metis Melamine (Non-magnetic) Chalkboards are breakable (if impacted by point loads or sudden shocks) but not easily scratchable. Metis Melamine (Non-magnetic) Chalkboards boast signature 'Metis' frame, which is an economical lightweight section built from alloy aluminium 6063-T6 with 0.5mm wall thickness and top-end anodizing, to impart significant bending strength and stiffness to the board. The corners are made up of injection-molded virgin ABS for a seamless finish and superior looks.
